# File Type vs FileXip

The clearest difference is price: File Type at Free against FileXip's $5.99. FileXip's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (16.2 vs 26.0). On in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

File Type is free to download; FileXip costs $5.99 up front. File Type sells 7 one-off in-app purchases and FileXip sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
