# New Science vs Alchemy

The clearest difference is monetization model: Alchemy at free against New Science's free with in-app purchases. On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. New Science sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Alchemy sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for New Science against 5.0 for Alchemy. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively.

New Science ships an update every 5 days, Alchemy every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
