# Year Progress vs Day Counter

The clearest difference is ads: Year Progress at none against Day Counter's shown. Year Progress also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Day Counter's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Year Progress sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Day Counter sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Year Progress ships an update monthly, Day Counter every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
