# Mappr vs MapSkins GPS

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MapSkins GPS at 74% against Mappr's 38%. Mappr's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and chart position (#96 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mappr sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and MapSkins GPS sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mappr holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mappr has 284 ratings behind it against 45, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Mappr's written reviews are positive against 74% of MapSkins GPS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mappr ships an update every 9 days, MapSkins GPS every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
