Five Foot Way
Read full descriptionHide full description
Every step you take goes into a building site on your own little island. Walk more and it rises, from a bare plot to a lit-up landmark. Five Foot Way turns your everyday walking into a city. Pick what to build, then go about your day. When you come back, the crew has been busy: scaffolding, walls, a roof, and finally the lights come on. YOUR WALK, IN BRICKS Steps from your iPhone and Apple Health are measured against your own usual pace, not someone else's. A good day for you is a good day for the city, whether that's 3,000 steps or 15,000. ONE BUILDING AT A TIME Every walk goes into the site you chose, so you always finish what you start. Watch it go up stage by stage, and get a gentle note when a new stage goes in. FROM HAMLET TO METROPOLIS Homes bring residents, residents bring new eras, and each era unlocks more to build. Grow from a quiet hamlet through village, town and city to a full metropolis, and watch the island itself grow to make room. 55 BUILDINGS WITH CHARACTER Kopitiams, shophouses, kampung houses, a mosque, a temple, an Art Deco cinema, a town hall, a stadium, a Ferris wheel and towers that scrape the sky. Each one is modelled for itself. SEE YOUR WALKING A chart of your steps for the last 7 days, 30 days or year, measured against your own usual day. Tap any bar to read that day or that month. PLAN EVERY STREET Drag a building into place, turn it to face the street, and move or turn it again any time. Lay roads, and watch residents and traffic bring them to life. DAY AND NIGHT The island follows your clock. After dark, windows, lamps and signs light up across the city. ITS OWN SOUNDTRACK Relaxed music for mornings, sunny afternoons, evening lamps and starlit nights, with drums that join in while you walk. A WIDGET THAT KEEPS UP See today's steps and the building they're going into on your Home Screen, without opening the app. KEEP THE MEMORIES Save a postcard of a finished building, a monthly recap, or a video of your island growing. SAFE IN ICLOUD Your city is backed up to your own iCloud, so a new iPhone or a reinstall picks up where you left off. Only the city is saved, never your steps. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No tracking. Five Foot Way only reads your step count, and your steps never leave your iPhone.
