# Construction Calculator vs Scanstead

The clearest difference is rating: Scanstead at 5.0 against Construction Calculator's 4.4. Construction Calculator's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ratings volume (18 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Construction Calculator sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scanstead sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scanstead holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Construction Calculator has 18 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Construction Calculator ships an update every 6 weeks, Scanstead every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
