# MapInk vs TriNav

The clearest difference is ads: MapInk at none against TriNav's shown. TriNav's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 weeks) and iOS requirement (18.0 vs 27.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapInk sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TriNav sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MapInk against 5.0 for TriNav. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively.

MapInk ships an update every 6 weeks, TriNav every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
