# Vellum vs Soledex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Soledex at every 8 days against Vellum's every 2 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vellum sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Soledex sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Vellum ships an update every 2 weeks, Soledex every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
