# GroundTime vs Layover

The clearest difference is rating: Layover at 5.0 against GroundTime's 3.6. Layover also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3). GroundTime's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 2 weeks) and ratings volume (10 vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GroundTime sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Layover asks for nothing beyond the download.

Layover holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GroundTime has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

GroundTime ships an update every 2 days, Layover every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
