# Lucerna vs Prayer Explorer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Prayer Explorer at free against Lucerna's freemium. Prayer Explorer also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and device support (3 vs 1). Lucerna's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lucerna sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Prayer Explorer sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Prayer Explorer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lucerna has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
