ToneForge vs ToneSmith

ToneForge adapts iconic guitar tones to YOUR gear. Pick a song. We translate the original setup — the guitar, amp, and pedals — to whatever you actually own. No more "the settings don't sound right" frustration. Free to try with 3 adaptations included. Unlock unlimited adaptations with Tone Pro (subscription required — details below). HOW IT WORKS • Tell us your guitar, amp, and pedals once during setup • Browse a curated library of legendary tones across rock, metal, blues, and more • Tap a song to see what gear made the original sound • Hit Adapt — we translate the recipe to your rig in seconds • Tweak the suggested EQ, drive, and pedals, then save the result to your library WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Most tone resources tell you "use a JCM800 with these settings." That advice doesn't help if you have a Boss Katana or a Fender Champion. ToneForge translates the SOUND, not the settings — so the recipe works no matter what's in your room. BUILT FOR • Beginners who want to sound like the records they love • Intermediate players tired of YouTube tone tutorials that don't apply to their rig • Pros looking for a quick reference for sounds they don't normally chase TONE PRO FEATURES (subscription required) • Unlimited tone adaptations (free tier includes 3) • Save unlimited tones to your personal library • Original-gear preview cards before you adapt • Detailed EQ guidance + signal flow per tone • Pickup, scale length, and amp-voicing-aware matching Built by guitarists, for guitarists. — — — TONE PRO SUBSCRIPTION Tone Pro unlocks unlimited tone adaptations.
