# ShadowClip vs OpenManual

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ShadowClip at none against OpenManual's 1. ShadowClip also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). OpenManual's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OpenManual sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. ShadowClip asks for nothing beyond the download.

ShadowClip ships an update every 3 months, OpenManual every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
