# Macaron Pixel vs Pixel Drop

The clearest difference is rating: Macaron Pixel at 5.0 against Pixel Drop's 4.6. Pixel Drop's advantage is ratings volume (236 vs 7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Macaron Pixel sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Pixel Drop sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Macaron Pixel holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixel Drop has 236 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Macaron Pixel ships an update every 2 weeks, Pixel Drop every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
