# Plotwist vs Elseway

The clearest difference is rating: Elseway at 5.0 against Plotwist's 3.3. Elseway also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). Plotwist's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plotwist sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month and Elseway sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Elseway holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plotwist has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Plotwist ships an update every 2 weeks, Elseway weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
