# GEN vs Elements

The clearest difference is ads: GEN at none against Elements's shown. GEN also leads on iOS requirement (17.5 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GEN sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Elements sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GEN ships an update every 3 days, Elements every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
