# Jot vs Trace

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Trace at none against Jot's 3. Trace also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). Jot's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Jot sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Trace asks for nothing beyond the download.

Jot ships an update every 2 weeks, Trace every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
