Learn Korean with your own tutor โ€” explained in your language, not through English. EXA Languages 2.0 has one clear path. Hana, your Korean tutor, fills the screen and talks to you in Korean, with everything she says subtitled in your phone's language. A lesson takes about five minutes, and each one ends with something you can actually say. HOW A LESSON GOES 1. Say it from memory โ€” a few phrases from earlier lessons come back first. Try saying them before you hear the answer. 2. Today's goal โ€” Hana tells you what you'll be able to say by the end. 3. New phrases โ€” sound first, no text. Then the meaning, in three layers: โ€ข Literal: word for word โ€ข Meaning: smoothed so it makes sense โ€ข Hive: what you'd actually say in your own language in that moment Repeat after Hana, then swap in your own name, city or job. 4. A short conversation โ€” someone asks, you answer out loud. 5. Now you can say this โ€” today's phrases go on your list. REVIEW AT THE RIGHT MOMENT Phrases come back after 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days. Miss one, and it comes back sooner. SPEAKING, JUDGED BY MEANING "I'm Minji" and "My name is Minji" are both right. No mic, or somewhere quiet? You keep going by listening. LESSONS THAT ADD UP TO REAL CONVERSATIONS Lessons go by number: greetings, your name, asking someone to say that again, where you're from, what you do. By lesson 7 you hold a one-minute chat with someone new; by lesson 14 you make plans for coffee. Later lessons take you to cafรฉs, restaurants, the subway, shops and the pharmacy. SEE YOURSELF GROW Start with a quick check to find your starting lesson; complete beginners go straight to lesson 1. The day after finishing lesson 14, take your first official rank exam for free and get your first rank, from E up to S. Within each rank, your level (Lv.1โ€“10) rises as you recall learned phrases on your own days later. Promotion exams open when your record shows you're ready. Home puts your growth in the middle: a five-axis status (listening, understanding, absorbing, grammar, speaking), phrases learned, phrases said on your own and your streak. A BUDDY THAT ONLY GROWS WHEN YOU LEARN Pick a Home buddy: curious Bunny, aloof Kitty, sleepy Droopy or over-excited Sparky. Tap them and they react. Bunny and Kitty grow as your rank rises; Droopy and Sparky unlock new outfits as you learn more sentences. Skip your lessons, and nothing grows. MORE OPENS AS YOU GO Piece Builder, word games, a wordbook and speaking scenes unlock one by one along the way. ONE LINE IS ENOUGH Something confusing, wrong, or sounding off? Send a quick note from inside the lesson. Only the screen info goes with it โ€” never your name or email. We read every one. YOUR LANGUAGE, NOT ENGLISH Most Korean apps explain everything in English. If English isn't your first language, that's two languages at once. EXA explains in the language your phone is set to โ€” Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish and more, and Traditional Chinese the way Taiwan writes it. ALSO AVAILABLE English, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, French and German โ€” each with a tutor of its own: Joy, Yume, Wang Mei, Paz, Aimรฉe and Mia. FREE TO START Lessons 1โ€“14 and your first official rank exam are free. No card needed. After that, a monthly or yearly subscription continues your lessons from lesson 15 and promotions up to S.
