# Backdrop vs Scryer

The clearest difference is update cadence: Scryer at every 2 days against Backdrop's weekly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backdrop sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Scryer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backdrop ships an update weekly, Scryer every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
