Pick a Look and the camera changes. Point it at a street and the street is already painted in oil, or broken into dots, or drawn by hand. You are not previewing a filter. That is the picture, and the shutter keeps it. THE LOOKS Brush. Painted stroke by stroke, coarse to fine, as you move. Mosaic. Rebuilt from its own colours. Cells split where there is detail. Drawn. The world drawn instead of photographed. Flat colour, inked lines. Matter. The picture as a field of grains that drift and settle. Fur. Combed strands that follow what the camera sees. Dither. Tone traded for dots on one fixed grid, nothing in between. Halftone. Print dots on a square or hex grid, in four shapes. Fluted. Seen through ribbed glass. The world arrives in strips. Water. Refraction and caustics, the scene read through moving water. Code. Digital rain over katakana, lit by whatever the camera sees. The list grows. New Looks arrive in updates. TAP OR HOLD Tap the shutter for a photo. Hold it to record, up to ten minutes. Video renders in the background at full quality, one frame at a time, using the exact settings you shot with. TUNE ANYTHING Every Look has its own knobs. Size, grain, relief, speed, depth, whatever that Look actually has. Drag the handle at the edge of the screen and the picture changes under your thumb. Tap a knob to put it back. BRING YOUR OWN Choose from Photos to run something you already have through a Look. For video, trim it first, pick the frame, then render. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE No account, nothing to sign in to. No servers. What you shoot sits in the Shelf on your device. Saving a copy to Photos is a switch, off until you turn it on. BACKDROP PREMIUM Dither, Water, Halftone and Drawn are free, and they record video too. Premium opens every Look, including the ones added later, and takes the Backdrop mark off everything you shoot. Tilework arranges your photos and videos into one finished piece on your device. Pick a layout, drop media into the squares, choose a paper, set a caption, and export. All rendering runs on the device. โข 350 layouts, from two squares up to fifteen โข Pick several photos at once and they fill the squares in order โข Video squares that keep playing inside the piece, up to four at once โข Thirty papers and five patterns, in any colour you choose โข Fourteen typefaces for the caption, with gradient ink and a label band โข Export as an image, an MP4 video, or a moving still for your wallpaper โข No account, no servers, no analytics, no advertising, no watermark FREE Layouts of two to four squares. HD export as JPEG. Three photo pieces and one video piece a day. Three saved drafts. Every ratio, all four looks, five typefaces and six plain papers. PRO All 350 layouts. Unlimited exports. 2K and 4K, lossless PNG and compact HEIC. All thirty papers, the patterns, colour from a photo and custom gradients. Fourteen typefaces, gradient ink and the label band. Video trimming, audio and cover frames. Batch saving. The social set. Moving stills. Available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. LAYOUTS 350 layouts, sorted by how many squares they hold; the newest are gathered under Just added. Change the layout at any point and the photos stay where they are โ the piece is rebuilt around them, not started over. MEDIA Photos and videos come from the system picker, so the app only ever receives what you choose. Pick several at once and they fill the squares in reading order. Each square can be panned, zoomed, rotated and mirrored, and the crop is stored as a proportion, so the same framing holds at every export size. A video square plays on a loop inside the piece. Trim the window, pick which square carries the audio, and choose the frame that shows when the piece is exported as an image. PAPER AND FRAME Six plain papers and thirty designed ones, plus five drawn patterns: grid, dots, lines, check and grain. Pattern colour and strength are yours to set. Take the paper colour from one of your own photos, or build a gradient. Frame width, piece corner radius, inner frames, square spacing, corner rounding and a cell shadow. A Polaroid mode gives the piece a thick bottom band with the caption inside it. CAPTION Two lines, either of which can be removed. Fourteen typefaces, six ink colours plus a gradient, size, weight and letter spacing. Top or bottom placement, three alignments, and four letter modes including small caps. EXPORT HD, 2K or 4K. JPEG, lossless PNG or compact HEIC. A video piece exports as an MP4 at up to 2K. The social set writes the same piece at three ratios at once. A piece with video can also be saved as a moving still. DRAFTS Every piece is saved as you work and listed with a thumbnail, so you can leave and come back. Saved pieces can be exported together in one pass. SUBSCRIPTION Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel in Settings. PRIVACY Photos and videos are not uploaded. The app does not read your photo library; it receives only the items you select in the system picker, and asks for photo permission only to save finished pieces back.
