# EZCast vs WiTV Viewer

The clearest difference is rating: WiTV Viewer at 4.0 against EZCast's 2.1. WiTV Viewer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). EZCast's advantage is ratings volume (899 vs 5) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 13 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WiTV Viewer holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EZCast has 899 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of EZCast's written reviews are positive against 13% of WiTV Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EZCast ships an update every 2 months, WiTV Viewer every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
