# Menu Bar vs RAM Guard

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Menu Bar at 100% against RAM Guard's 50%. Menu Bar also leads on ads (none vs shown). RAM Guard's advantage is price (Free vs $0.99) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

RAM Guard is free to download; Menu Bar costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RAM Guard holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RAM Guard has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Menu Bar's written reviews are positive against 50% of RAM Guard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Menu Bar ships an update every 2 months, RAM Guard weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
