# duiduidui! vs Hanzi Scroll

The clearest difference is monetization model: Hanzi Scroll at free against duiduidui!'s freemium. Hanzi Scroll also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (13 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. duiduidui! sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Hanzi Scroll sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for duiduidui! against 5.0 for Hanzi Scroll. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hanzi Scroll has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
