# whatSub vs iSub Player

The clearest difference is ads: whatSub at none against iSub Player's shown. whatSub also leads on update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. whatSub sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and iSub Player sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

whatSub ships an update weekly, iSub Player fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
