# Roll vs Sidekick

The clearest difference is update cadence: Roll at every 2 days against Sidekick's every 8 days. Roll also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roll sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year and Sidekick sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Roll ships an update every 2 days, Sidekick every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
