# SpeechWave vs MicType

The clearest difference is update cadence: MicType at every 3 days against SpeechWave's every 3 weeks. SpeechWave's advantage is iOS requirement (18.6 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SpeechWave sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and MicType sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SpeechWave ships an update every 3 weeks, MicType every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
