# Hourly Beep vs Recurring Reminders

The clearest difference is rating: Recurring Reminders at 5.0 against Hourly Beep's 4.4. Recurring Reminders also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (17.6 vs 26.0). Hourly Beep's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hourly Beep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Recurring Reminders sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Recurring Reminders holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hourly Beep has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Hourly Beep ships an update every 3 weeks, Recurring Reminders weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
