# Metal Detecting vs Detectorist

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: Metal Detecting at 15.1 against Detectorist's 17.0. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Metal Detecting sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month and Detectorist sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
