# VeloPlay vs Crazy Detective

VeloPlay and Crazy Detective both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Crazy Detective's written reviews are positive against 40% of VeloPlay's. VeloPlay's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ratings volume (411 vs 79). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crazy Detective sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. VeloPlay asks for nothing beyond the download.

VeloPlay holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VeloPlay has 411 ratings behind it against 79, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of VeloPlay's written reviews are positive against 100% of Crazy Detective's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VeloPlay ships an update monthly, Crazy Detective every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
