GRAB uses the magnetometer in your iPhone as an antenna. It receives the electromagnetic noise around you and turns it into sound in real time. Power adapters, motors, displays, Wi-Fi routers ā the invisible field they radiate becomes the source material, and you play it the way you would play a field recording. Move to a different room and the instrument sounds different. SOUND ENGINE ⢠Five ETHER-inspired layers: mains hum / PWM buzz / static hiss / high squeal / pulse train ⢠Three sensor-driven synth voices: saw / square / noise ⢠With the camera on, light falling on the lens drives a tremolo across level and timbre EFFECTS ⢠CRUSH ā bit crusher with sample-rate reduction ⢠COMB ā comb filter with feedback ⢠REVERB ā multi-tap reverb with shimmer ⢠STUTTER ā BPM-synced gate ⢠MUTE ā momentary kill switch; tap it repeatedly to articulate a tremolo by hand ⢠HOLD latch on every effect pad, from the button or a second finger ABLETON LINK ⢠Automatic tempo sync with Live, Logic and other iOS music apps ⢠STUTTER locks to the Link tempo at 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 ⢠Uses Ableton's official Link settings panel ⢠Plays alongside other audio apps rather than interrupting them VISUALS ⢠3D point-cloud frequency spectrum ⢠Spectrum bar mode ⢠With the camera on, a grayscale image sits behind the field in depth WAYS TO PLAY ⢠A field-sound tool: walk it past appliances and hear the timbre shift ⢠An atmospheric noise source to drop into a live set ⢠A platform for experimenting with electromagnetic noise music PRIVACY All audio is processed on the device. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent anywhere. Ableton Link communicates only within your local Wi-Fi network.

Finger Shruti ā Play the Shruti Box with Your Fingertips Finger Shruti is a musical instrument app that brings the mechanism and playing feel of the Indian shruti box to your iPhone. A shruti box is a traditional drone instrument that produces sustained tones by opening the reeds of the desired notes and sending air through the instrument with bellows. It is often used in Indian music, vocal practice, meditation, yoga, and sound bath settings to provide a continuous tonal foundation. With Finger Shruti, you can select the notes you want to sound and play by swiping up and down on the screen. Swiping changes the AIR value, allowing you to control the sound in a way that feels similar to operating a real shruti box. You can also select multiple notes at the same time to create richer drones and harmonies. The app supports switching between A = 440 Hz and A = 432 Hz, so you can choose the tuning that best suits your preference and practice. Finger Shruti includes a 3-minute free trial. During the trial, you can use all performance features. If you would like to continue playing after that, you can unlock the full version with a one-time in-app purchase. Whether you use it for singing, meditation, yoga, sound exploration, or simply enjoying sustained tones, Finger Shruti offers a simple and tactile way to experience this unique instrument.
