# PlayStems vs GuideTone

The clearest difference is update cadence: GuideTone at every 3 days against PlayStems's every 11 days. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PlayStems sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and GuideTone sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PlayStems ships an update every 11 days, GuideTone every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
