# MindPen vs MindBranch

The clearest difference is update cadence: MindPen at every 6 days against MindBranch's every 3 weeks. MindPen also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MindPen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and MindBranch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MindPen ships an update every 6 days, MindBranch every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
