# 2ndBook vs Hardcover

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: 2ndBook at none against Hardcover's 1. 2ndBook also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hardcover sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. 2ndBook asks for nothing beyond the download.

2ndBook ships an update every 2 days, Hardcover every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
