You don't just watch a car anymore. You feel it. MotorPulse reads a car engine's acoustic signature in real time and translates it into precision vibrations through your iPhone. Every rev, every idle, every redline, felt through your hands. When it revs you feel it build. When it settles you feel it calm. When it hits redline your phone comes alive. It's the first app that lets you feel an engine, not just hear it. WHY EVERY ENGINE FEELS DIFFERENT Every engine has its own fingerprint. A big block V8 feels nothing like a flat-six. A muscle car idle feels nothing like an exotic at full song. MotorPulse captures that character, the fundamental frequency and the overtones unique to each car's displacement, cylinder count, exhaust, and tune. You can feel the difference between cars with your eyes closed. THE GARAGE Launch with hand-picked iconic builds, including a Ruffian Mustang and a 1973 Black Pantera. Feel them free, the moment you download. More legendary cars are on the way, dropping into the garage as the collection grows. FEEL YOUR OWN CAR Upload any car video from your phone and feel your own build come alive. Your daily driver, your project car, that exotic you filmed at a cruise night. If you have video of it, you can feel it. HOW IT WORKS MotorPulse uses Apple's Taptic Engine and real-time audio analysis to read the engine hundreds of times per second. Louder engine, stronger vibration. Higher RPM, sharper feel. It works with iPhone camera videos and downloaded clips alike. Best experienced on iPhone 13 and newer. NO SUBSCRIPTIONS You pay once and own it forever. No monthly fees, no recurring charges. Unlock uploads and the full garage with a single one-time purchase. Inspired by the moment audiences first felt an F1 car through their seats, MotorPulse brings that experience to everyday car culture. Resto mods, classics, exotics, muscle, cruise nights. The cars that deserve to be felt, not just seen. Download it. Feel it. You won't believe it's coming from your phone.

Exhaust Note is not an app that plays back engine recordings. For piston engines, it synthesizes the sound from scratch, every moment, from the firing order created by cylinder layout and crankpin phasing. Why a crossplane V8 rumbles, why a flatplane screams, why a V12 idle throbs — it all comes from the physics of firing intervals. This app computes that physics in real time. ■ Real-time synthesized exhaust - Zero recorded samples. Crank-angle integration → per-cylinder firing → exhaust-pipe propagation, computed every sample - Distinct primary pipe, mid-pipe and muffler model for every engine - Muffler continuously adjustable from straight pipe to quiet ■ Engine collection - 22 engine and motor presets: inline-3 through V12, two-, three- and four-rotor engines, a 300 kW electric motor and six motorcycle engines - 12 transmission presets: manual, sequential, dual-clutch, automatic, EV single-speed reduction and motorcycle 6-speed sequential, paired with compatible powertrains - Pick a motorcycle engine and the view becomes a motorcycle that leans into corners, with quickshifter, intake and dry-clutch sounds - Crossplane vs flatplane V8 — same eight cylinders, completely different sound - Firing order and rumble index shown as specs ■ Pop and bang + flames - Afterburn pops on throttle lift and downshifts - Flames at the 3D exhaust tips, same instant and same bank as the sound ■ Tunnel mode - Reverb that wraps the sound in wall reflections, like driving into a tunnel ■ A living 3D machine - Crankshaft, pistons and connecting rods rotate in phase with the sound - Gearbox cutaway: constantly meshed gear pairs and real synchro-sleeve movement - Observe the mechanism at 1/10 slow motion, or switch to real time for phase match ■ The feel of driving - Torque-converter launch, rev matching, manual H-pattern shifter - Haptics on rev limiter, wheelspin, shifts and ABS - Analog pedals: press position controls pedal travel ■ Electric drive - Motor, inverter, underfloor battery and fixed reduction in 3D - Original sound synthesized from motor speed, load and regeneration, without recorded samples - Simplified battery charge, energy use and regenerative braking ■ Garage, dyno and mechanism explorer - Name and save engine, transmission, boost, exhaust, body, color and assist combinations; restore the last configuration - Compare torque/power curves and estimated acceleration with shared vehicle mass and road conditions; optional matching gear ratios for combustion setups - Move through the operating cycle and choose a gear to inspect the mechanism ■ Circuit driving - Drive GT and four-door coupe models on the test circuit or an approximate 20.7 km Nürburgring Nordschleife based on public data, with forests and elevation changes - Adjustable graphics quality and saved accelerator/brake modes, pedal response, steering and assists - Local best laps are separated by circuit, engine and boost class; the three-rotor, four-rotor, electric and motorcycle powertrains currently keep records on the device only Power, acceleration and EV battery figures are estimates from simplified simulation, not production-vehicle measurements. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: MotorPulse at none against Exhaust Note's shown. MotorPulse also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Exhaust Note's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
