# ScreenFox vs Median

The clearest difference is rating: Median at 5.0 against ScreenFox's 4.0. Median also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 days). ScreenFox's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScreenFox sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Median sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScreenFox ships an update every 5 days, Median every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
