# Dotty vs Hearth Island

The clearest difference is ads: Dotty at none against Hearth Island's shown. Hearth Island's advantage is update cadence (every 11 days vs monthly) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dotty sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Hearth Island sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dotty ships an update monthly, Hearth Island every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
