# SpekTalk vs Type Words

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: SpekTalk at 15.0 against Type Words's 17.0. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SpekTalk sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Type Words sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SpekTalk ships an update every 3 weeks, Type Words fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
