# LockMeBox vs Universal TV Remote

The clearest difference is update cadence: Universal TV Remote at every 2 days against LockMeBox's weekly. Universal TV Remote also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LockMeBox sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $8.99 per year and Universal TV Remote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LockMeBox ships an update weekly, Universal TV Remote every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
