# Somnr vs Belay

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Somnr at 207 against Belay's 3. Somnr also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Belay's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Somnr sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Belay sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Belay holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Somnr has 207 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Somnr ships an update every 4 days, Belay every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
