# Penguin vs Deutschactiv

The clearest difference is update cadence: Penguin at every 3 days against Deutschactiv's monthly. Penguin also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Penguin sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per month and Deutschactiv sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Penguin ships an update every 3 days, Deutschactiv monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
