# Longhand Notes vs CheckPad

The clearest difference is update cadence: CheckPad at every 6 days against Longhand Notes's fortnightly. Longhand Notes's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Longhand Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and CheckPad sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Longhand Notes ships an update fortnightly, CheckPad every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
