# Smart TV Remote vs AC Remote Control

The clearest difference is rating: AC Remote Control at 5.0 against Smart TV Remote's 4.5. AC Remote Control also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Smart TV Remote's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart TV Remote sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and AC Remote Control sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AC Remote Control holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart TV Remote has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Smart TV Remote ships an update weekly, AC Remote Control every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
