# Recess vs Mars AI

The clearest difference is monetization model: Mars AI at free with in-app purchases against Recess's subscription. Mars AI also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 10 days). Recess's advantage is chart position (#188 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Recess sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and Mars AI sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Recess against 5.0 for Mars AI. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 4 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
