# UCAT vs MedCat

The clearest difference is update cadence: MedCat at every 2 days against UCAT's every 2 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UCAT sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and MedCat sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

UCAT ships an update every 2 weeks, MedCat every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
