Two readings a day. One for the morning, one for the evening. Nightingale is a small, hand-built library of short pieces worth reading slowly: poems, letters, essays and stories, chosen one at a time and fitted to the minutes you actually have. Each day it hands you two. Read one in a minute, or ten. Many are performed aloud. You read, sit with it for a moment, and carry it into the day. No feed. No endless next. A reading, and then a close. THE DAY'S PAIR A morning reading and an evening one, chosen by hand and the same for every reader, so there is nothing to decide before you begin. When you want to wander, the whole library is open. Browse what has newly arrived, see what other readers are reading this week, pick a mood, or simply say how long you have: one, two, five or ten minutes. THE LIBRARY From Wilde's heartfelt stories to Seneca's letters, from Emily Dickinson to Marcus Aurelius. Every piece is chosen, sourced and named. Where a reading comes from something longer, it says so, and it is shaped to stand on its own rather than cut off mid-thought. The time on each reading is a promise, not a guess. A two-minute read takes two minutes. Alongside the classics are Nightingale originals, short essays written for this library and nowhere else: the love story inside the Taj Mahal, why the sunlight on your hand is eight minutes old, why losing hurts more than winning feels good. A DICTIONARY IN THE MARGIN Press and hold any word and a quiet definition appears right there on the page. It works offline, on every word in every reading, so an unfamiliar word never sends you away from what you were reading. READING PATHS Short sequences meant to be walked in order, a few readings on one thread. A new path opens each week, and each one ends. Nothing scrolls forever. THE LISTENING ROOM A room, not a playlist. Put a record on and let a piece be read to you: a poem read like a poem, a letter read like a letter. Lock-screen controls, background listening, and a little weather to keep you company. A COMMONPLACE BOOK Every reading ends with a quiet question. Your answers gather into a commonplace book, a practice four centuries old. Your reflections stay on your phone, private and yours. THE CANDLE Finish a reading and your candle burns another night. Miss a day and nothing scolds you; the candle relights when you return. MADE WITH CARE Eight moods, each a shelf of its own: Calm, Courage, Wisdom, Poetry, History, Curiosity, Reflective and Whimsy. Four quiet themes, Cafe, Ocean, Forest and Pinot, each with a day and a night. A home-screen widget that turns twice a day. Full VoiceOver support, and text that grows as large as you need. No account, no ads, no tracking. FREE AND MEMBERSHIP One of the day's two readings is free, every day, and you choose which. Membership opens the rest: the whole library, every mood, every path, and the Listening Room. Monthly, yearly with a seven-day free trial, or a lifetime membership paid once. Cancel anytime. Nightingale is made by one person who thinks the right piece, arriving at the right moment in the right amount, can give almost anyone back the habit of reading. That is what it tries to do, twice a day. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://nightingale.tambourineai.com/privacy

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Nightingale at fortnightly against Ancient Scriptures's every 5 weeks. Nightingale also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
