# Ekko vs YapChat

The clearest difference is update cadence: YapChat at every 5 days against Ekko's fortnightly. Ekko's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ekko sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and YapChat sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ekko ships an update fortnightly, YapChat every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
