# Loop vs Smart TV

The clearest difference is rating: Loop at 5.0 against Smart TV's 3.8. Loop also leads on ads (none vs shown). Smart TV's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Loop sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Smart TV sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Loop holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 4 respectively.

Loop ships an update every 2 months, Smart TV every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
