# Reelr vs FormatFox

The clearest difference is ads: Reelr at none against FormatFox's shown. Reelr also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Reelr sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $24.99 per year and FormatFox sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Reelr ships an update every 11 days, FormatFox every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
