# The Operator vs Unfading

The clearest difference is monetization model: The Operator at free against Unfading's free with in-app purchases. The Operator also leads on ratings volume (560 vs 1). Unfading's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 10 days). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Operator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Unfading sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for The Operator against 5.0 for Unfading. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Operator has 560 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of The Operator's written reviews are positive against 100% of Unfading's.

The Operator ships an update every 10 days, Unfading every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
