# PhotoFun vs SmartFolder

The clearest difference is ads: PhotoFun at none against SmartFolder's shown. On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhotoFun sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and SmartFolder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
