# StepSwitch vs StairSnap

The clearest difference is ads: StairSnap at none against StepSwitch's shown. StepSwitch's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StepSwitch sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and StairSnap sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepSwitch ships an update every 4 days, StairSnap fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
